I’m Mary Kate, owner and Principal Designer of In Focus Interiors. Since founding the firm in 2021, my approach has been simple: beautiful homes should feel personal, comfortable, and meant to be lived in.

Great design starts with seeing what a space can become — but even more importantly, understanding the people who live there. The people, the pets, the routines, what you love, and even what drives you crazy about your home all become part of the process. Those details are what create spaces that feel thoughtful, collected, and distinctly yours.

Warm, energetic, and hands-on by nature, I’m genuinely invested in my clients and their homes. The goal is for the experience to feel just as good as the finished space — personal, exciting, well cared for, and a whole lot of fun.

Joining In Focus Interiors in 2026 as Director of Business Operations is an exciting new chapter — both for the firm and for Mary Kate and me.

With more than 25 years of executive leadership experience, my career has centered around growing businesses, developing people, solving problems, and finding better ways to do things. That experience includes serving as Vice President, President, CEO, and now Chairman of the Board of IV Labs.

At In Focus Interiors, my focus is the business behind the design — operations, financial strategy, systems, partnerships, and long-term growth. Building that structure gives Mary Kate more freedom to do what she does best: design, create, and take exceptional care of our clients.

Our strengths may be very different, but our approach is much the same. We believe in strong relationships, doing things well, taking care of people, and never settling for “good enough.” Mary Kate brings the creative vision; I bring the business strategy — and neither of us is particularly short on ideas.

Being her husband and biggest supporter makes getting to build this next chapter together even more meaningful.
